It is so light I can pick it up with one hand. My other cast iron and enamel cast iron pans are too heavy to handle that easily. The surface is smooth like stainless, but it has the even cooking temps that cast iron is know for. I notice that it does heat up faster that standard cast iron (maybe since it is lighter weight) so you need to adjust the heat down and it does not take as long to get to smoke point. If you actually know how to cook and know how to control heat you will love this pan!. Anonymous. Mon Jul 27 2026

Lourdes Villagomez is a contemporary artist from Mexico City known for her bright use of color, bold acrylic paintings, and beautifully decorated skulls. Her work highlights the traditions of Mexico in a new way and aims to represent a part of her culture that many never see. She has shown her work in New York, Italy, and across Mexico City and was highlighted as one of Mexico’s most promising new artists in 2016. Lourdes created this special edition Sugar Skull Skillet for Lodge Cast Iron as a way to bring the traditions of Day of the Dead, or Día de Muertos, to people everywhere. The sugar skull illustration captures the edible gifts that many people decorate and exchange for Day of the Dead. Rather than being a reminder of loss, the skulls bring color, fun, and sweetness to a celebration of those we have known and loved. Traditionally, marigolds are used to guide the dead back to their families and friends, and are hung over shrines, archways, and tombs. The skull is surrounded by a ceramic pattern made famous in Puebla, Mexico, a city where Day of the Dead is a big celebration.

Convenient side spouts help avoid spills when pouring sauces and oils. Season after every use to prevent rust and prolong product life. Handwash recommended. Care and use instructions: Cooking with your cast iron: Heat slowly – Cast Iron retains heat very well, but will absorb heat slowly. Give the pan several minutes to come up to temp. Use pot holders or oven mitts when handling hot cast iron. Cleaning your cast iron: Rinse your pan under warm water and gently scrape off any food remnants with a nonmetal brush or a nylon scouring pad. Thoroughly dry your cast iron and then using a paper towel, apply a light layer of oil around the entire surface of the pan. The pan should be smooth with no oil residue. Place the oiled pan on a burner set to high heat. Once the oil is lightly smoking, turn off the heat and allow the pan to cool.

The FINEX Cast Iron Skillet was inspired by a time when a polished cast iron skillet was at the heart of every American kitchen but designed to meet the expectations of today's cooks. Like the best antique skillets, it has a polished ultra-smooth cooking surface for minimal sticking and easy cleaning. Unlike your grandparent's skillet, the distinctive geometric shape is poured friendly and the stainless-steel spring handle cools down quickly.

This is beautiful and will be an amazing heirloom piece. I have 3 skillets from finex. I cannot recommend this brand enough. The pans are solid and heavy and truly are beautiful. Seasoning and reseasoning is something that I actually like to do to keep them non stick. These pans sit on my stove and they are what we us 95% of the time. Do it! They will last your lifetime and through your children’s lives. The pan comes unseasoned so the color is more bronze, after seasoning they will be black. I’ve attached a photo of my pans that are several years old for comparison. Also get a lid!!. Kori Ann. Odessa, TX. Tue May 18 2021

This cast iron skillet set is sooo nice! I’m moving away from the non stick skilletpans that we usually have. The cast iron skillets actually work better for me than the stainless steel I bought just because stainless steel is so hard to work with and these hardly ever have food that sticks. I love that cast iron skillets already come prepared usually we have to oil and bake them first. I love the different sizes these are perfect!. Julie. Sun Sep 13 2026
