I like the look of it and the veneers look realistic. There are lots of pieces so don't plan on it being a quick build. I did on my own with no assistance. Pretty good instructions -- I did miss the strip that covers the seem of the 2 flimsy panels that go across the back of the lower cabinet so watch for that. There are no extra screws/fasteners so keep track of your parts. These paired shelving units were just what my small business was looking for to store our store's product. Each unit took about 1/2 hour to assemble with two people working together. After putting the first unit together, the second happens much more quickly. The units' brown shelving match my wall shelving so that was a plus. The units are sturdy and balanced. These bookshelves look amazing in my craftroom. We purchased 3 of them, each one took my husband approximately 3 hours to put together. He then used his own hardware to secure them together to make it look like one large unit. The doors all open well, the shelving seems sturdy enough for my supplies. I only purchased these because of the huge discount, you get what you pay for. If you are looking for “built in craftsmanship,” this option is not for you. We knew we would be downsizing in a few years and did not want to invest a huge amount of money for built ins. Having said that, these units are the showcase of my craftroom!
