The Johnte Full-Size Futon Frame with Full-Size Innerspring Mattress is just the thing to make my spare bedroom a functional guest room. Once together, you have a traditional futon that is sturdy, comfortable, and works as it should. Assembly wasn't overly difficult and the instructions were clear. I did have to watch part of the manufacturer's how-to video to figure out how best to lay the bed slats into the frame proper. The key is to lay it flat and get assistance from a 2nd person. Also, the 8 screws in the frame need to remain loose until that stage and only tighten them after the slats are slipped into place. Cons: The back rest cushions are probably more thick than they need to be. This causes a pretty shallow sitting length and your thighs will hang off the front most likely. The underside of the small pillows I received have a very differnet looking grippy section that I haven't found functional or tasteful. The cushions are vacuum-compressed for packaging. Before installation, please firmly pat the cushions to help the silk cotton quickly expand and fill the entire cushion. It usually takes 2-3 days for cushions to fully plump up to optimal state.

It is just the size I needed. I was surprised at how easily and quickly I put it together by myself. Only needed help setting it upright and moving it to the rug. All pieces arrived in great condition, individually packaged well. Boxes were a bit heavy but manageable. All screws and parts are here, extra screws included. Took me 30-45 min to assemble. Very slight smell out of package but that should go away. Frame is steel on both sides, with an extra support leg in the middle - i ordered this model because reviews of similar cheaper daybeds with no middle support had cracked in the centre. Legs are plastic but seem fine. Wood slats are sturdy, not thin. The grey upholstery is textured with flecks of dark and light grey, not a solid grey colour. I wish it came in black, but this grey is fine too, and the overall look is modern with clean lines. Confirming the back is not upholstery as other reviews have mentioned, so this day bed has to go against a wall.
