We installed this light fixture in a spare bathroom. We purchased it based only on the photo in the ad, never seeing it in person. My husband talked me into it because he liked the brassy, dark look of it and I only agreed to order it because of the hanging crystals. I was delightfully surprised at how lovely it is and I am absolutely recommending it for the classy and quality appearance of it. The faux crystals are not colorful but still quite pretty. If you like the ad picture then you will like it in person a lot more. We chose bulbs that protrude a bit from the bottom, because we like that appearance, but you can install smaller ones that don’t. When I saw this light advertised, I thought the $3500 was way to much for the light.. It is not true alabaster.. I could not find anything else as big and Wayfair had a deal on it, so I pulled the trigger and purchased it.. It took about 3 weeks to get here. When it did get get here the box was HUGE!! The delivery guy are great and will get it to your front door, but you on the hook from there.. Oping the thing up I see why the box is so big.. It very very well packed.. Unpacked it and moved it up to where it needs to be hung.. You really need to plan for this light.. It's Heavy.. I think the documents say 127lb but it feels like more.. I had to hang this thing 14' in the air.. I had 2 guy helping with a couple of ladders and it was hard.. Make sure you do some planning when you want to hang it.. You will also have to make sure your light box will hold this thing.. The standard one will no way hold.. Please make sure you have the right support in the ceiling.. I have a 2X4 I screwed a heavy duty bracket into.. The standard Box would NEVER hold.. You should also try and use clean gloves.. I got the edge a little dirty and it is very hard to clean.. Once it's up it looks really good.. Its just what the space needed and worth the price.. I was glad it was not real stone.. These beautifully beaded wall sconce added the right amount of detail on my wall, beside my tall headboard. Lamps on my nightside table were too small for the area. Beautiful light, but Minka Lavery's installation instructions are terrible. It would be helpful if they provided blow up pictures of each screw and the location this screw is used. I needed a light fixture for a client's library renovation. Something masculine and substantial, that blended black and gold.
