This is a nice little fan. Works great and has a low hum to it which at first I thought would keep me from sleeping but it really lulls you to calmness. Just was installed today by my home care specialist, it took him 30 minutes to install it I already had a light fixture in the ceiling space . its quiet fast cooling , no noise at all ! remote control offers variety 3 or more of light settings. Yes the light can be turned off with fan still spinning cooling room ! I got 40 inch size blades because my ceiling has a bit of an angular shape . So it fits well , n looks great . This is a truly epic fan. Firstly, it can blow super strong if you want that or blow lightly if you like. The way it can oscillate vertically or horizontally is super cool and allows a rooms air to circulate yet not be blowing directly on you. This is convenient for when you're sleeping or when you need air to move really efficiently around a room. It can also just oscillate vertically or the more typical horizontal oscillation. The lamp option in very neat and so is the remote though I havent found the need to utilize those two features for my needs.
