My 10 year old has the top bunk and my 2 year old has the bottom.. while it is a beautiful bed, I will say that when my 10 year old at 110 pounds moves around you can definitely feel movement and wobbling from below, but there is a steel bar that runs underneath the top bunk that reassures me that it is secure. It took us a about 3 hours to build, just make sure that the headboard and footboard are in the right facing position bc we had to redo ours. I also will note that the headboard and footboard slats dont fit in snuggly and are wobbly. Pine wood is a softer wood and I am already aware of some dings and dents but am still happy that this is not an MDF product so should hope last still for some years. This bunkbed is really nice looking and solid and a great bargain. The bed gets 5 stars. HOWEVER, assembly was an atrocious process and would earn negative stars. None of the parts were labeled. Each piece had multiple patterns of holes on several sides and trying to line them up facing the proper way was a process. The instructions are almost nonexistent- just very small pictures with confusing arrows everywhere. Once everything was lined up appropriately it really wasn’t hard to put together but labels and written instructions would make a huge difference. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this bunk bed, especially for the price. It was fairly easy to put together, just time consuming because there are so many parts. It took two of us 2 hours. The parts were clearly labeled and the instructions were mostly clear. There are a couple minor issues one leg must have been drilled crooked because the leg is not lined up exactly right and there are 2 screws, so we can’t correct it. Plus there was a small dent on one of the rails. Another minor inconvenience is that since everything was labeled well, there are a lot of stickers to remove and they don’t come off the easiest. The biggest negative is that the ladder rungs are small and square and hurt your feet when climbing. Hopefully that’s not an issue for kids who are lighter, but it’s definitely an issue for adults..
