The bed is very solid and instructions are easy to follow. I will say though, it was a 2 person job for us and we are well versed in putting furniture together. We also needed a heavy mallet and a lot of patience while we pounded the back support together. We thought that the whole idea of "Japanese Joinery" meant the pieces just slide right in together which was definitely not the case. It feels solid and doesn't wiggle or move around. I'm hoping that it will be a great solid bed that will last us years. The color is beautiful-- a nice walnut color that complements our earthy tone theme beautifully. Pleased with my purchase. The queen size bed frame and headboard came in excellent condition. The construction appears solid. Assembly took less than 30 minutes. However, if you arent very familiar with furniture assembly instructions, you may struggle a little as none of the pieces were labeled with the numbers used in the instructions. The bed went together fairly easily, even with one person! For a few of the steps, I had it leaning on the wall with a blanket for extra protection, but the pieces went together smoothly with little extra effort. The most time consuming part was simply attaching the bed slats, which was quick with a drill.
