This is a piece of art and worth every penny (and the wait). It's wider than any other wooden spatula I've been able to find. The curve in it is carved - not bent. It also has a very thin front edge. It would make an amazing gift. The width at the working end is 3.5" - rather than the 2" that most wooden spatulas are. Check out the thin edge on this thing!. Barbie. Cedar Park, TX. The Tovolo Olivewood Spoon and Turner Set of 2 pairs two solid wood tools for stirring, flipping and serving. Both are crafted from solid olivewood with no coatings or synthetic materials, so no plastic touches your food. The 12.5-inch spoon, with a 2.23-inch-wide bowl, is rigid enough to push through thick risotto, cookie dough and bread batter, and its smooth edges scrape along the curves of bowls and pots. The 12.5-inch angled turner has a tapered edge and a 3-inch-wide head that slide under pancakes, eggs, fish and cookies without tearing them. Wood limits heat transfer, so the ergonomic handles stay comfortable, and the smooth, polished finish will not scratch nonstick coatings or cast iron seasoning. Hand wash with mild soap, dry promptly and oil occasionally with food-safe mineral oil.
