Pretty easy to build. A little disappointing that the description mentions a curtain that is not included. There was a piece at the foot of the bed where the bottom shelf and bed connect that the hole was not drilled out, you could see it was started but we had to drill it out. The windows could be sewn better because they didn’t survive my toddler, within not even 5 minutes after the bed was done being built the windows were broken. Nice frame, takes time to install if you do it yourself. it took me about 2 hours to finish by myself. Looks good. Bed slats could be done a bit thicker or stiffer. They seem not strong for me, seems very likely for bending (especially if a kid jumps). One slat came with a crack and had a problem during installation. overall happy (except the crack slat).. Came in two boxes in usual Wayfair fashion and in hundreds of pieces. Lol We dove in separated the pieces and quickly realized 75% of the pieces were not numbered.. This made assembly a little frustrating because we had to build parts and then take some apart and rebuild to go to next steps. The instructions could definitely use some more detail. And just FYI the roof pieces have spaces in between so don’t expect a solid roof . For the money I feel could be a little more sturdier, but I don’t expect anyone to be pushing on the backside so we will see how well it stands up. We also ordered 2 10” memory foam mattress through Wayfair. Would highly recommend a 6 or 8 inch for top depending on the age of child using the bed and how much the roll. The 10” is definitely too tall for the Trundle but are able to still slide Trundle in and out w a little extra work. Overall I am happy with the purchase. My 14 old squealed w delight and approves. Made all the extra work worth it! Definitely a 2 person job and took us 6 hours to build over 3 days. Honestly the extra time could have been cut in half if instructions were better Written/drawn. Few critiques. 1. The bed in the image appears to be a solid white with a hint of wood grain if you look closely. However, the actual material is a yellow pine with a low-quality white wash finish. All the wood grain and knots are completely visible, and the color is more of a yellow/ tan tint. 2. The MDF balusters or posts also have a deep wood grain texture. Not very appealing. Would look nicer if it had a smooth finish 3. The number of planks supporting the beds has a minimum spacing of 7.5" between. Typical higher quality beds have a 4" spacing. This has the potential to damage the mattress. Also, no pilot holes for any of the screws, with no way to plug them up. 4. Nothing comes pre-built. Not a deal breaker but certainly inconvenient. 5.
