Be careful if you are ordering this model because it has a heat functionality advertised.... yet twice I received a more basic model that looks the same but does not have any heating ability, a different product code number. I can see why the mistake happened once, but the second time indicates a bigger issue and I strongly advised the customer service reps to fix this listing because I do not think they have the model they are advertising (35A1_WH1), they have KYR-35A1, just Cool, Fan and Dehumidifier. I need a unit with a heat mode for winter, and chose this after much research on which "4-in-1" to get. Wayfair made it easy to return but it was still a lot of time and trouble. As an air conditioner, this one is... fine. On the loud side—steady noise at least, not chugging, but not really smooth nor easy on the ears. it's also tall—it makes up in height what it condenses in width, which is fine. But if your exhaust window is higher than 2' just calculate that you'll have to bend the hose upwards more and won't be able to push the unit against the wall. Many homes have plenty of room for that, but it becomes more prominent in my apartment than I would want. Also, wrap the hose in a thermal sleeve if it is extended! You save a lot on efficiency and containing the heat exhaust. And don't use it for the first day after you receive it, let it sit for a day first. This came just in the nick of time with temperatures getting in the in the unbearable ranges. It was easy to put together and install without directions but I still did read directions to make sure everything perfect based on previous experiences with portable AC units. I have this in a 9x12 room and on the first night, it took quite some time to cool down, the room temperature was 93 when I started it around 9 pm and it reached 73 around 2 am. All windows and doors were closed so no hot air was flowing into the room. It won’t cool down the space as well as a traditional HVAC but it’s great help if it’s all you have.. Michele. US.
