It has a rough surface to grip so they can walk on top and take a bath, because its the perfect depth to splash in — see my video of a chickadee taking a bath. (I tied a coated wire across the 2 birds to form a perch.). Nancoix. Minneapolis, MN. Mon Jul 13 2026

Love the mosaic design and color. The size of the bowl is perfect for my solar (disc) water fountain. The only reason it’s not a 5 star is the stand is a little jerky and the bowl doesn’t sit on it evenly although it’s on a flat, even surface. As a result only 3 of the 4 suction cups grip the bowl and I worry that it may tip since it’s not secured on all 4 sides of the stand.im seriously considering buying a metal patio table to set the bowl on top of so that it’s secured.. Sun Pottery Classic Bird Bath has a unique, strong, locking device (not plastic). All Alcott Hill® glazed pottery and bird baths are fired in gas kilns. These are significantly more environmentally friendly than the large, standard, wood-fired "Dragon" kilns used by most of Alcott Hill® competitors. The "Dragon" kilns burn a huge amount of rubber wood at each firing which is very bad for the environment and doesn't provide even firing for the product. Alcott Hill® gas Kilns ensure more even colors and better quality products because the temperature is controllable; unlike that in the wood-fired kilns. Durable frostproof construction (up to 32 degrees F.).

Wonderful addition to our front landscaping. Very attractive.. Judith. Bostic, NC. Sat Sep 26 2026

I’m pleased with the quality and the design of the birdbath. The birds came immediately and fought over a space in the bowl. However, I do have one gripe. The birdbath was so over packed that it was difficult and time consuming to unpack it. Although it was probably worth it because there was not a single scratch on the birdbath.. Joan Allen .
