Constructed from steel, it features a slatted headboard and footboard that introduce an airy, open profile to your arrangement. Because the system includes its own steel slats, your mattress rests directly on the base to simplify your setup. The bed frame is simple but quite pretty and sturdy. The low profile footboard doesn’t cut into a small room - helps to keep it open. And there are two height choices. The taller choice allows for a nice space underneath for storage. The only thing I worry about is the plastic spacers that keep the crossbars for the platform in place. If a person needed to take the bed apart for any reason, I would worry that those spacers would wear out.. Michele. Harlingen, TX. Fri May 15 2026

Update your bedroom with this platform bed frame and all its traditional charm – plus, some modern practicality. It's crafted from steel in a classic silhouette and comes with wooden slats that eliminate the need for a box spring. I did a lot of research regarding the weight capacity of metal beds. We have a king size black beauty rest mattress that works best with box springs so the total mattress weight has to be around 200lbs. My husband and I combined are just under 400 lbs. so I wanted a minimum of 700 lbs to more than cover. Also my husband is 6’2” and I was concerned about his feet getting caught in the footboard. We tested it without the box springs because the bed doesn’t require those. He didn’t have any issues but we ended up adding the box springs anyway. Now the bed with the springs goes higher than the footboard. The mattress height alone is 14 inches and box springs add about 4 inches. The bed frame is heavy at just under 103 pounds so that was important. I didn’t want a lightweight frame. The decor on the head and footboard is beautiful, gives an antique vibe like the bed my grandmother had but no squeaking. We have slept on this for just under a week and there is no sound. We were able to put this together is about twenty minutes. The instructions are clear with numbers for connecting pieces that slid into place easily. We did use the rubber mallet included to secure each piece. Love the bed, very happy with the sturdiness and look.. Linda. Kansas City, MO. Fri Sep 11 2026
