We got this 18000 BTU ductless unit for our soon to be remodel garage/ laundry room that’s only about 500 square feet so this will be more than enough to keep it cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Soon as our HVAC guy comes out and does the installation I’ll update as to it’s efficiency but for the price of a unit this size you can’t beat it and it comes with everything you need. Really powerful fan! It has the option of a cool mist that's great for dry air. You can use it separate from the fan as well. It also has a cooling function. You put water in the base and add the ice packs that are included to make the fan blow cooler air. It's not nearly as cool as an air conditioner but it's better than hot dry air blowing when it's too warm out. It comes with 4 ice packs so you can use two and have two in the freezer to switch out. The fan looks really nice and doesn't take up a large footprint. It has given me the ability to put off using the air conditioner a bit. I have only had the unit for a week but it came very well packaged and is very quiet compared to my last one. I did not screw anything into my windows as this is a temporary unit that I use for a few days throughout the year. The instructions were very simple and the unit is solid. I love being able to change the temperature and settings from my phone. I also appreciate how small the unit is compared to some of the other window models I have seen. I installed this unit in my vertical window and it works great. We used a piece of plywood to cover the rest of the window. The side extended panels and the insulated sheets you cut are a great idea.
