It has just enough give in the padding on the very top so that you know you're not laying on " a board". I can only be comfortable being on firm mattresses and this is extremely helpful to my back and to my recovery for my hamstring. I wouldn't give this mattress up if God himself asked me for it. The mattress came in a manageable sized box. We were able to unbox without anyone getting decapitated. We allowed the mattress to “inflate” for 48 hours, then placed it on our new Wayfair queen sized frame. Our niece slept on it and said it was the most comfortable mattress she’s ever slept on.
