The reason I gave it a 4 stars is the off and on switch. It sits up high underneath the shade. The shade is too long and it makes it difficult to reach to turn it off and on. If it had a switch attached to the cord, it would be the perfect lamp. It has 3 different light settings one for the base, one for the shade and one for both base and shade.
