Pretty easy to assemble and very sturdy. I was a little overwhelmed at first by this build and so I procrastinated. I don’t think that it was needed because it took me a half an hour alone. The instructions are just one page and very easy to follow. There’s only three types of screws. There’s no hunting for pieces. They’re all well labeled and the hardest part is putting the two pieces together at the end as the top gets pretty heavy. Overall I’d like to see how this handles Florida weather outside but I feel very good about putting my cat in here. Could also be used for other small animals. With that said there’s no place to put a carabiner if you’re doing anything where you feel like a raccoon or potentially ratmouse may get in you might want to do some additional securing with hardware cloth and a better latch.. My two kitties love their new space! We have two 9 months old kitties that we rescued when they were 3 12 weeks old. They are indoor cats but we wanted to give them a safe sanctuary when are not home. I put the structure together myself and it probably would have gone quicker if I had help but I took my time and the instructions were easy enough to follow. The wood is strong enough for indoor but I don’t think it would last long outside in the elements. I didn’t use the roofing material that came with it since I have it inside the house. I’ve been looking for one with kind of measurements and with some adjustments to the structure (for our needs and wants) this has been great. The instructions were pictures which I thought were a challenge, and a few pieces were cracked.. I used glue and packing tape for repair. But not with removing a star. I skipped the braces ( first steps so I could put it together in the house ) when my husband and I could assemble this outdoors I did end up replacing some of the upper parts with the same wire as the bottom. I purchased at tractor supply then replaced the two doors with just wire ( a good stapler is needed.) The big door at the bottom I added an extra lock so it gives me the access needed for “just in case” my cats would run in if I shake the treat jar. I got two pieces of strapping for the top to support the top by the roof and one for the center just for additional support. I am able to use power tools but I didn’t want to come up with the big design so honestly this is great! Great catio but takes forever to put together. Had a very strong smell when we took the various parts out of the box but the smell has gone away now that we've placed it outside.
