Purchased for myself during the Mother’s Day sale & I am SO glad I did! New features I love are: the bowl light-just a game changer! The half speed-the flour sifting attachment never looked so seductive & there is zero mess, even without the spatter cover. Speaking of which-I love how it now grips the bowl! It used to slide to the sides constantly & now you can hold the bowl upside down & it won’t come off. And the bowl! The handle is much more comfortable & sturdy, the brushed finish looks impressive & cleaner-the shiny silver showed every water mark & finger print. I was worried the stand mixer would be hard to clean in the Cast Iron finish but it’s just the opposite! My old Matte Black Artisan showed finger prints & oil much more easily! It doesn’t seem lighter than my regular Artisan was, & it’s still pretty loud all the way up, due to the more powerful motor. Also the cord isn’t very long but now comes with a cord keeper band-a nice touch. The new attachments are heavier duty, easier to clean & work well. For the price I paid I cannot complain. However I have been using a 25 year old KA mixer baking Christmas cookies with friends. This stand electric mixer has many positive features including three attachments for different cooking needs. I like the cover that can catch splatters, and the 10 different speeds will be helpful for types of foods. I found the directions for attaching the blades a bit confusing since there is an arrow under the bowl pointing clockwise that I assumed were for the blades as well as the bowl. I couldn't make the blades lock in position until I realized they locked in counterclockwise. Also, trying to beat just one egg white did not work for me as the blade did not reach down far enough. So far this set is great! I didn't realize when I got it that it says it's for low to medium heat and suggests use under 450 degrees. I really do like my Cuisinart Stand Mixer. It has plenty of power for the things I use a mixer for which is mostly cakes. I got a black quilted cover for the mixer to protect it from dust and keep its bowl clean. I had originally wondered how the Robins Egg Blue color would look in a stainless steel and black combo kitchen but it is beautiful. This mixer replaces my old Sunbeam twin beater mixer .
