Beautiful bookcase. Works perfectly for our space. My only complaint is that the cam locks that hold in the top are horribly engineered. Cam locks only work when they're tightly engineered to grip the peg. Ours didn't grip the peg at all, and the top is still loose! It doesn't really affect the structural integrity of the shelf since it just holds the top shelf, but still. There's no reason why the top couldn't have been fastened via machine bolts going through the top into the end grain of the vertical segments.. Marco. Ithaca, New York. Wed Oct 21 2026

I am happy with this Solid Wood Ladder Shelf. I ordered it in the light wood finish, and it looks even better in person. The color is bright and neutral, making it easy to match with the rest of my furniture. It adds a nice decorative touch to the room without taking up a lot of space. Assembly was easy, it only took me 20 minutes to put together and the instructions were straightforward, and all the parts were clearly labeled. Once everything was put together, I was impressed with how sturdy it felt, I wasn’t sure if it would be or not and it was very sturdy. One feature I especially love is that each shelf has a raised lip around three sides. It's a small detail that makes a big difference because it helps keep everything from sliding off the shelves. I don't have to worry about picture frames or small decorations getting bumped off the edge, and it gives the shelf a more refined look. I was looking for a simple, sturdy bookcase because I have a lot of books and some small decorations I wanted to display. I already had a bookcase, but the color did not match my furniture, and it didn’t fit the overall design I wanted for my living room. This one was a much better choice. First, be prepared: it comes in a BIG, HEAVY box! If you live on a second floor as I do, I highly recommend asking Wayfair beforehand if room-of-choice delivery is available. I carried the box upstairs by myself, and believe me, I paid for it afterward! So definitely consider getting some help with that part. The bookcase itself is fairly easy to assemble. The instructions recommend two people, but I assembled it by myself. If you have enough space and can use a bench or another sturdy surface for support, you may be able to do it without a second person. The assembly guide is good, although it could be improved. I think it would be much easier if all the hardware pieces were clearly labeled, so you can identify the right piece immediately whenever the instructions tell you to use it. Another thing to keep in mind is that mine did not come with the tools needed for assembly. Thankfully, I already had the necessary tools at home. It took me about four hours to put everything together, but I actually enjoyed the project and kept myself entertained while assembling it. One detail I did not like was the small stickers included to cover the holes. They aren't very well designed, and when you try to peel them off the sheet, they can easily get messy, bend, or get damaged. I think the manufacturer could definitely improve the quality of these dots. Overall, the bookcase is simple, sturdy, and gives me plenty of space for my books and decorations. Most importantly, the color and style work much better with the rest of my furniture and the look I wanted for the room.. Aliuscha. Hialeah, FL. Sun Oct 04 2026

This freestanding bookcase delivers a streamlined silhouette with plenty of open storage for your books and decor. It's crafted from kiln-dried solid wood for a sturdy frame that stands up to everyday use in your busy home. The vertical design features clean lines that blend with both classic and modern interiors, while the finish highlights the natural grain for added depth. This piece comes unfinished or in the finish of your choosing, and it's available in multiple sizes to fit your space. Its spacious shelves are adjustable for customizable storage, and the solid back panel provides a finished look.

This was initially going to be a 1 star review because when the bookcase arrived, every shelf and the bottom of the bookcase was damaged. I changed it to 4 stars because of how great the product support has been. I submitted the issue to wayfair and they put me in touch with the manufacturer, who offered to send a replacement if I sent the damaged one back. I didn’t want to deal with the hassle of returning such a large item so I asked for a partial refund and they offered 25 back, which I felt like was fair. They also responded every time in a timely manner. So while the product did arrive damaged, customer service was excellent and this experience won’t deter me from ordering from wayfair again.. This bookcase is beautiful and looks just like it’s listed picture. I love that it is REAL wood and not particle board. The delivery was quick and smooth. My only complaint is that it was not at all wrapped in any way to protect it from bumps or dings, but thankfully, there was no damage.. Christine. Roselle, IL. Fri Oct 23 2026
