Very nice all wood (cedar maybe?) stool that looks nice enough for the living room. We just needed a small stool in a couple of spots to have a way to reach up and pull the shades down, so this design fit the need perfectly. There was only one small problem, the top of one of the two units had a noticeable large gouge in the top. Packaging was good also, very easy to break down and separate out the styrofoam and cardboard as I'm able to recycle both. However, the unit was damaged -- one leg where it curves to form the long "ski" broke clean through. I don't know whether to blame the packaging or the design of the unit (but it is very stout). I’ve had this coffee table for about 3 weeks so far and I love it! I don’t mind assembling furniture and sometimes find it weirdly enjoyable, but this was tedious to put together - you really have to focus on the instructions to make sure it’s put together correctly. This is a very nice-looking ottoman with great storage, but I do have a few reservations about its long-term durability in a busy household. Pros Functionality True to Size It measured exactly as expected, though visually it feels quite large and substantial next to my couch. Clever Storage The way it opens is a really cool design feature, and the extra storage space is incredibly useful. Easy to Smooth Out While most items left on top will leave a slight mark or indentation in the faux leather, the material is forgiving enough that you can easily rub your hand over it to make the marks disappear. Concerns Around Durability Because it is pleather, I have to be careful not to keep anything sharp or angular near it. My main worry is how it will hold up against my dog and kids over time. Just the other day, my 14-year-old son leaned on it awkwardly, and I was genuinely nervous that the hinges—which are located in the middle—might snap or break.
