It has several power choices for the light, a weighted base, and an electrical plug for power. I intentionally chose this light because I thought it would provide more light for sewing and it absolutely does! This is a well-made, modern reading lamp with a clean, minimalist design. Assembly was quick, and it feels stable once assembled. The light is excellent for reading, and the adjustable head makes it easy to direct the beam exactly where you want it. My only reason for giving it four instead of five stars is the finish. In the product photos, I expected a warmer brass tone, but in person it leans more toward a muted bronze/gray finish depending on the lighting. It’s still attractive, but if you’re trying to add a warm brass accent to a room, it may not have quite the look you’re expecting. Decent lamp for the price point (bought on sale). The height works for our tall ceilings and I like that the arch isn’t super wide like many similar styles. But I take off a point for the color. Online it looks like a true, light gold. In person it’s a lot more brassy and the color makes it look a bit cheaper than it would otherwise. Overall it works for now and would’ve been a 5 if the color was true gold.
