For the price of $809 and free shipping this was worth it for me. Having said that, there are issues. The ash drops through a chute BEHIND and underneath the unit. I have not figured out what can be put back there to collect ashes. It will have to be a wide short metal bucket of some type. I think this should have been mentioned and provided or be for optional order. Then there is the ridiculous excuse for an owners/instruction manual. How hard would it have been to expand that just a little...for instance...I do not know what the lever in front underneath the firebox is for...I assume for dropping ash.......then there is the problem of .....is the back position closing up the ash drop, or is the forward position that causes ash to drop? The unit was built in November of 2025 and arrived Dec 15, 2025 but all that notes that on the metal sheet from the back is a dimple in a box, and for the model number. I might have bought a different make of wood stove had I known all the above for $100 more plus the separate purchase of a blower....and all of them seemed to be out of stock. One inconvenient feature is that the knob on the lid is very small. When the kettle is hot, you need to use a glove to lift the lid. It’s difficult to grasp the knob with a bulky fireplace glove. The DVB11 from Ashley Hearth is a 100 CFM blower with thermostat for the 11,000 BTU direct vent wall heaters DVAG11N, DVAG11L, and DVAG11-DF to improve heat distribution with a more even temperature. Easy installation. The rocker switch operates in a 3-way configuration: Auto, Off, and On. In the Auto position, the blower will automatically cycle on and off in response to temperature changes. When set to the On position, the blower will run continuously until it is manually turned off.
