This is beautiful and will be an amazing heirloom piece. I have 3 skillets from finex. I cannot recommend this brand enough. The pans are solid and heavy and truly are beautiful. Seasoning and reseasoning is something that I actually like to do to keep them non stick. These pans sit on my stove and they are what we us 95% of the time. Do it! They will last your lifetime and through your children’s lives. The pan comes unseasoned so the color is more bronze, after seasoning they will be black. I’ve attached a photo of my pans that are several years old for comparison. Also get a lid!!. Kori Ann. Odessa, TX. Tue May 18 2021

Like cast iron, but better. the best-selling Carbon Steel Frying Pan, seasoned with a mixture of shea nut oil and coconut oil, we’ve taken care of the first two seasonings (the hardest ones) so you can experience the difference Carbon Steel makes on day one. the Carbon Steel combines the heat retention of cast iron with the control and maneuverability of Stainless Clad, resulting in a natural non stick alternative. We stamp Carbon Steel into a thin disc that’s half the weight of cast iron but every bit as durable—so it seasons faster, responds quicker, and is rugged enough for the grill or open flame. With sloping walls and a wide surface, this pan provides maximum heat contact for high-heat searing. See how this chef-loved pan will replace cast iron as the favorite kitchen heirloom.

Not only is this cast iron enamel pan beautiful but it cooks to perfection. It is as heavy and well made as my Le Creuset fry pan. This one is very stylish with the brass knob. There doesnt seem to be any hot spots within the pan and the cast iron interior appears to be pre-seasoned. I added a bit of oil before searing . The only thing that I can fault is the color that I received was not Latte but stark white. The color was not a deal breaker for me but it might be for some people.. Sharon. Dunwoody, GA. For those who like cooking with cast iron but love the versatility of a clad stainless steel pan, the Viking Blue Carbon Steel 10 Inch Fry Pan is the perfect pan. Featuring a 12-inch size for added versatility, this fry pan is made of carbon steel, an alloy that is a combination of iron and carbon. The “blue” in “blue carbon steel” references a heat treatment process to help resist rust and corrosion, a nuisance that can plague traditional cast iron pans. Stay-cool cast iron handles securely attach to the pans with heavy-duty rivets for confidence in construction and a lifetime of use. Though cast iron also excels at maintaining even heating, it can take time to rise to temperature and since iron itself is so brittle, more of the material must be used to make it durable, making traditional cast iron pans larger and heavier. With blue carbon steel, you’ll have a pan that is noticeably lighter without sacrificing performance. And like cast iron, blue carbon steel also heats quickly and evenly, reducing the risk of hot spots from occurring. Blue carbon steel is also prized for achieving high temperatures quickly without fear of damage occurring to the pan itself. Viking blue steel is oven safe to 450°f for restaurant-quality finishing in the oven. Like cast iron, your blue carbon steel pan will need to be seasoned regularly to maintain its nonstick properties. “seasoning” refers to the process of coating the base of the pan with a thin layer of oil that imparts a flavorful taste to your foods while also protecting foods from sticking. There are plenty of methods to seasoning your pan, but if this is your first time seasoning the pan, we recommend using very hot water and dish soap to first scrub the pan, then wipe dry and place it on the burner at low heat to finish drying. Add some oil to the pan and cook over medium heat for about 10 minutes. Then, let the pan cool and wipe it with paper towels and your pan is ready for use! For future maintenance, simply rinse the pan with water after use and scrub gently with a soft-bristled brush or sponge if necessary (no need for soap!). Season with vegetable oil periodically to maintain its smooth cooking surface and nonstick properties. It is not recommended to put these pans into the dishwasher as it will remove the seasoning, reduce the natural nonstick, and make the pan more susceptible to rust. Should you find rust on the pan, like natural cast iron, this can be normal. Just clean the rust off with a scrubby sponge and season the area with vegetable oil.

The Greater Goods 10-inch cast iron skillet is a versatile essential for everyday cooking and a core piece of premium cast iron cookware. Pre-seasoned with 100% organic, cold-pressed flaxseed oil, this seasoned cast iron skillet offers a naturally non-stick surface that improves over time - without chemical coatings. This cast iron frying pan features a smooth, precision-milled interior for even heat distribution when searing, frying, sautéing, or baking. The balanced weight, ergonomic handle, and dual pour spouts provide comfort and control during daily use. Safe for gas, electric, induction, oven, grill, and open flame, this skillet pairs easily with other cast iron pans. It's a modern upgrade to the classic cast iron skillet. Before Your First Use: Give your skillet a quick prep to get the most from its natural seasoning: 1. Buff the interior firmly with a dry paper towel until it comes away clean. 2. Rinse with warm water, then dry completely right away. 3. Rub on a thin layer of oil and warm the empty pan for 2–3 minutes. 4. Use a little extra oil or butter for your first few cooks. 5. After each use, hand wash, dry immediately, and re-oil lightly before storing. With this routine and regular care, the seasoning becomes smoother and more non-stick over time. You may occasionally notice a few small dark flecks from the seasoning itself — that's normal, the same as the char you'd see from grilling, and no cause for concern.
