The bed is amazing now that it’s completed. However, I am glad I got a pro to build it because parts of it were missing holes and he was able to call and work through a solution. Great choice — skeptic converted. I was doubtful about a metal bed, but the slim, airy frame turned out to be a perfect fit for a small kids' room. Light, functional, and doesn't overwhelm the space. Photos show how it looks in a standard 8ft ceiling room. Assembly is straightforward for anyone with basic cordless tool skills — I put it together solo in about 2 hours. All parts are clearly numbered, comes with 2 step-by-step instruction booklets and all necessary tools (3 sizes of Allen wrenches + screwdriver). Plenty of spare hardware included. Tips: Beyond the included LED strips, I highly recommend adding extra lighting — I used additional LED under-cabinet lights Swapped the basic plastic handles for metal ones — looks much better Materials are thin and fragile — don't overtighten bolts or the metal will bend. Not a dealbreaker, but be careful. Once anchored to the wall it's rock solid — survived a full pillow fight on the top bunk ✅ Delivery of both boxes was surprisingly fast. Bottom line: Don't expect miracles for $300. But for the money, this is an excellent, affordable solution for a small room. My wife and I are happy, and our 6 and 8 year olds are absolutely thrilled. During assembly, we ran into a few quality control issues: some necessary bolt holes were completely missing, and several of the pre-drilled holes were misaligned.A quick safety tip: It is a bit wobbly on its own. Poor instructions, missing pre-drilled holes, warped boards, a cracked board. Very frustrating to assemble. I’d look elsewhere. Update - after a little difficulty ordering replacement parts, they sent me the entire bed. I needed 1 board, 1 bolt, and 1 bolt receiver. Now I have 79 lbs of the rest of the bed to dispose of. After reading some reviews on putting this bed together, I was concerned. However, it only took two people 2 1/2 hours to put this bed together. One box had a chipped piece (I think the metal piece in the box must have hit it during the shipping process), but both Wayfair and the manufacturer have responded quickly to replace it. The frame itself seems relatively sturdy and will do the job for my 6 and 8 year old great grandchildren I believe. It was just put together today and I can't speak to how well it will hold up to children's use or the overall sturdiness and length of use. What I was not happy with was being uninformed about a couple of things. I contracted for the "assembly service". I was unaware that delivery of the bed was not allowed to be brought indoors. I am older and can't lift these packages so it was quite a problem getting them in and then into the room. I expected a delivery to be brought into the room the beds were going into. Also, I did not expect that not only would the delivery be separate from assembly but that assembly did not include the movement. Wayfair told me to move the boxes into the room, open and inspect myself. I would have hired a more full service if that was the case. However, the person who did the assembly was great - did a very thorough job, personable, willing to help, professional and prompt. Ashely was awesome. After using almost 2 months, I must say the screws keep falling out. Also, I noticed it says I received something for my review but I don't know what that was supposed to be.
