Henry the Nutcracker entered the holiday tradition immediately following the giving of nuts, a nutritious treat that was easy to store. The utilitarian devices eventually took the form of dolls, inspiring Tchaikovsky's famous ballet and now, the winter holiday association with nutcrackers as well dressed sentinels of the season. They decked out their nutcracker named Henry, in bright colors and enchanting detail so he is well prepared to welcome family and friends to celebrate the season.
