The Tiger I Ausf. E is perhaps the most famous tank of World War II. Armed with the devastating 88mm KwK 36 gun and protected by 100mm of frontal armor, it became a legend on the battlefields of Europe and North Africa . This Zvezda 1:35 scale kit represents the early production version that first saw combat during the Battle of Kursk (Operation Citadel) in July 1943—the largest tank battle in history .
The kit captures all the distinguishing features of early Tigers: the cylindrical "dustbin" commander's cupola, s-mine launchers on the hull, hull-top headlights, and the Feifel air cleaner system with molded hoses . A highlight is the fully detailed turret interior, including the gun breech, seats, storage bins, and aiming equipment, allowing modelers to display hatches open .
With 341 precision parts, flexible vinyl tracks, and decals for two Kursk-period vehicles (s.Pz.Abt. 503 and s.Pz.Abt. 505), this kit offers excellent detail for intermediate modelers. The finished model measures approximately 241mm (9.5 inches) in length .
Assembly requires plastic cement; paints and finishing supplies are sold separately. Not recommended for children under 14 years .
