The Antique Besserabian Ukraine Floral Flat Weave Rug is an exceptional wool piece originating from late 19th-century Ukraine. This flatweave rug showcases sophisticated textile artistry influenced by French Neoclassical and Empire styles. The design features highly detailed naturalistic floral motifs, including a central wreath of lush roses and blue forget-me-nots framed by scrolling garlands. Woven entirely in wool, the saturated reds and yellows stand out sharply against a deep brown earth-tone field. This room-sized square rug offers a dramatic contrast and a three-dimensional quality to its shading. As a significant historical link between traditional Eastern European weaving and Western design principles, this antique Kilim represents a rare and impressive decorative statement for any interior space.
