The Fisherman shade takes its shape from the traditional woven traps used by Indonesian fishermen. It’s a tall, slender column that tapers gently toward a rounded crown and finishes with a rattan hanging loop. Long vertical rattan reeds run from top to bottom, held in place by evenly spaced wrapped hoops, so the open frame shows a clear, rhythmic structure. That open frame lets light pass freely, casting long striped shadows when lit.
Its tall, narrow form is a good fit for stairwells, double-height ceilings, kitchen islands and spaces where a wide shade would feel heavy. Hang one alone as a quiet statement, or pair the Large and Medium sizes at staggered heights. Artisans make each Fisherman by hand, so small differences in reed spacing and tone are expected.
