Boy, were these a challenge to work with! First of all, it never occurred to me to check whether my walls were flat -- obviously, theres no flex in these giant tiles, so any bowing of your walls makes it very hard to get them onto a flat plane. And because theyre super heavy, you need full contact of the mastic between tile and wall, also difficult with bowed walls. And even with experimentation on my adhesive, I had a lot of problems keeping them from sagging because of the weight. I tried two different diamond blades on my tile saw, and sharpened them regularly, but still had a lot of problems with chipping and chewed edges. Maybe a better saw wouldnt have had such problems. They did cut pretty nicely on a manual tile cutter though. See my review of the 2x6 tiles for drilling recommendations. Overall, to paraphrase an old saying I hated tiling but I love having tiled. I think they look great, and Im proud of myself for getting it done. But I dont think I ever want to work with such huge heavy tiles again, at least not on walls.. Patti. Luzerne, PA. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The brown subway mosaic tile is beautiful! I like diy projects so the installation process was very easy. The glass like exterior makes maintenance a breeze. Time will tell how durable these are but they are holding up so far.. Ksimone_4159. Thu Dec 05 2024

I like to find unusual materials for my decorating projects, and I fell in love with these tiles on sight. The 2x6 size was a little pricy for me, so I created a design incorporating the 2x6 with the 12x24 and a contrasting 24 bullnose trim. Absolutely love the look. The grass color is more of a sage than a true green, not bright but beautiful and understated, especially with the matte linen texture. Be aware that these are porcelain and extremely hard to drill into. If you want to hang accessories for towels or TP, I recommend the following Mark the spot and cover with clear packing tape. Use a glass tile spade-type bit just to pierce the surface. Then use a concrete bit larger than the hole you need just to make a divot (the initial pierce will keep the bit from wandering). Finally, put a diamond bit into the divot and drill all the way through. Trust me, you will need that diamond bit - before I discovered it, I spent 45 minutes drilling one hole. Also, be sure to spray the concrete and diamond bits with water continually while drilling. These were a lot of work (leveling, spacing, and lots of grout lines to fill), but totally worth it!. These glass tiles are beautiful and exactly what I was looking for. They have a lovely shimmer and the contractor said they were easy to work with. We used them for a decorative strip on the wall, and on the floor in our shower. They are not slippery at all on the floor which I was initially worried about. So happy with the final result!. Mary.
