This product is a replacement for the 6kw unit that i had for 10 years. I actually don't have a use for the lights and speakers as my shower is already done. Not very happy with the programmability of the unit. You can only run the unit in 30 min increments. So if it takes 15 minutes to get up to temp you have to run it for another 30 + 15 remaining from the preheat. Maybe I'll find a way to not have to add 30 min. Steamspa / SWCorp does not service their products. When something goes wrong you have to open up the unit and troubleshoot yourself or pay a contractor to do it. Mine worked for about six months then stopped producing steam. Warranty covers almost nothing. It doesn't cover "parts", so I'm not sure what it covers. Customer service offered to sell me a new one at a 20% discount or buy new heating elements and drain valve since the tank is not draining. None of this is covered under warranty. We have begun building an additional wall to hide the steam spa generator, but will leave a door for easy access. We got this installed by the professional. It's not so easy for DIY. You need 240v electrical box. It comes with two controllers, one for inside the shower and one outside. It works good so far. I only have for a few days. It doesn't produce as much steam as I would hope, but enough to fill the shower. We have a large shower. It takes 3-5 minutes to fill the shower with steam.. Paxton.
