Super happy with our project! This went up incredibly easily and fast! We covered three sides of a 22’ island in our commercial space (for a service counter) in about 6 hours. Pieces scored and snapped perfectly with a common utility knife. We sorted the lighter and darker colors, but honestly I don’t know if it really mattered. There is nice variation in the tones. We did not use a j-roller, but we did press each piece securely. Everyone that has seen it raves! We still have a few trim pieces to add to tidy up the corners but otherwise, this project is done! The packaging was great. However, the items had many scratches and chippings. The wood or the engineered wood is pretty cheap and I wish they had used better material. I've been looking for well over a year for a product like this that would be easy to work with, thick enough to hide some wall flaws, but thin enough to be able to work with behind my pedestal sink and not have too much of a profile against my trim. I am so happy I found this product! I am a relatively advanced DIYer, but even a beginner could use this and get beautiful results. It cuts easily with a box knife or scissors and is lightweight; just remember to measure twice and cut once CAREFULLY. The planks have plenty of variability in color and grain, as well as a convincing texture. While they acclimated I separated the planks first into three piles based on how much character each one has. I also cut some of them to different lengths and was able to create a nice, random pattern that looks very realistic. I had minimal waste, and all of the planks arrived in excellent shape with no damage to the corners or edges as you will often find with these kinds of products. It really not a bad product but it has a film on top of the wood. Its a way keeping the consistent look of the product. I removed the film to show a closer look at the wood underneath and show a side by side comparison. These tiles are leathery foam, (helps with insulating and soundproofing) and are perfect for covering old paneling or just dressing up a boring wall. They can be cut easily with scissors. I highly suggest you paint the wall underneath with a similar color, because if you get one a little crooked youll see a sliver of wall peeking through.
