The depth of the basin is more than 8 inches, and the large reservoir is not easy to splash when in use. Love this mounted floating vanity! I only gave it a four star because my husband had some challenges getting it put together. He said there were holes in a panel, but none on the vanity. We were concerned with destroying this new item. Once installed one other issue was a minor crack in the flexible J bend which caused minor drips.
