i have 10 of these heaters - both in NG and LP for an off grid cabin in all three sizes - best value for a straight foreward reliable heater - simple thermostatic control - no bells and whistles make it easy to repair and replace parts that are readilly available - no power needed - if you have 120v you can position a fan above the heater - got lucky when i found these on line. This heater can put out some heat!! I set mine at 60 degrees and it stays 70-80 degrees in my well insulated small home. It is NOT a wall insert - it mounts in the floor- I purchased it to mount on the wall and then had to call Wayfair because it does not mount on the wall as advertised. this thing is wonderful! i live in idaho near canada and it works faithfully and doesn't need electric to start which is a great relief as the greid goes down often here in the winter. it warms the cabin quickly and when on full, 3 panels full-on, it can run u out of the room. i lovr this item and use it daily from late sept to april and into may.. I have two large rooms that are 30 x 50 so I have 2 duraheat 10000 watt heaters. They are strong enough to keep temps steady in an insulated area even when it is below freezing outside . We LOVE this thing! Best upgrade ever. We purchased a sufficiently rated countdown timer switch with intervals that seemed appropriate for a bathroom heater (Leviton DT102 15-30-1h-2h) and have been enjoying this heated mirror so much. A brief ON will defog the mirror, while 15 minutes ON (switching on a bit before getting into the shower) is long enough for it to heat up fully and make a huge difference when stepping OUT of the shower. 30mins is great for getting ready on a very cold morning. The mirror optics seem very clear and high quality. We did not do the installation ourselves, as it was put in during a whole house rewire the electricians opted to put in a recessed outlet box behind the mirror and just plug it in there, rather than hard wiring it. This will preserve flexibility going forward. Because it was going in a very particular place, and we have plaster rather than drywall, they opted to install cross pieces of plywood secured to the wall, and mounted the mirror to the wood strips. It’s very secure-feeling. My one negative point is the thing gets so warm that it’s not comfortable to lean my face close (bad eyesight) for putting on make-up. This is something that might require finessing your timing if it was your only mirror, or setting up a small well-lit mirror in another location. The high mass ceramic element design far exceeds the performance of a standard baseboard with thermal storage from the ceramic core and more efficient heat transfer from over-sized aluminum fins. The result is more gentle heating with fewer on/off cycles as the ceramic core slowly heats up and then continues to dissipate heat during the off cycle. Lower surface temperatures and reduced watt density making the heater much safer. A better alternative to water or oil-filled baseboard heaters that can leak due to high pressure created when heating the fluid in a self-contained vessel.
