I am remodeling an 81 year old house. I wanted something unique to showcase the ceilings, so I chose the My Beautiful Damaris Drop-In or Glue-Up PVC Ceiling Tiles. I am remodeling everything on my own and am physically unable to put heavy sheetrock on my ceilings. I actually had FUN gluing these ceiling tiles up and kept stopping to admire how beautiful they look and what a difference they make! It was so simple to cut, glue and place them. These are great. There is a learning curve to putting them up. But I put them up by myself. I used a quick grab adhesive in dime sized dollops. Then used a paint roller to help hold them into place. This is the galvanized steel color 2 x 4 ft. Great alternative to metal wall paneling. Cutting it was very easy. Attached to stucco with liquid nails, lots of it. These are really pretty and they'll work out for us. I was a little surprised that they are basically like Styrofoam- super light and thin so you have to be very careful not to crease or crack them. Probably not a great solution if they'll be up close but will work fine up on a ceiling or something where they're a little further away and you can't tell it's like Styrofoam. Not terribly impressed by this purchase. The "bronze burst" colour that I chose should be described as exactly what it is ... "dark brown". Also, the packaging can't be that great because the largest box of tiles I received had a pretty significant dent along an edge that affected every single tile in the box. This is a beautiful tile. I shopped for a glossy white ceiling tile and comparable tiles were $1-$2 more per square foot. This is a flat tile and does NOT have a beveled edge. I placed mine directly over the cheaper acoustical tiles and they look great. I rated them 4 stars because of the packaging. They were delivered piled on a pallet and wrapped with clear plastic with the result being scratched tiles. I'm probably the only person that notices the scratches but when you are paying $2.99 per square foot you want a perfect tile. We looked everywhere for someone to put this up for us. None would tackle it. So my husband and I put it up ourselves. Took a long time as we had to level the ceiling in an old house (about 10 hours) and then trying to get all the tiles up while working over our heads. This is DEFINITELY a two person job. Gorgeous. Easy install. I would recommend painting the ceiling the color of the tile before applying because they’re not perfectly square there will be a few little tiny gaps between them and areas. Absolutely stunning! Painted the plane styrofoam tiles with acrylic metallic paint, then antique with black acrylic paint. Used an instant grab glue to put tiles up. Simple, easy process. Incredibly pleased with the results. Spend a lot of time laying on the floor just looking at the ceiling! The tiles I ordered for another room arrived today, cant wait to start getting them ready..
