These work okay for me, they're cute and all, but it's not quite the "warm white" I was expecting. These are a very clear white. The battery pack at the end of the string is also the size of a 1990's pager. I was looking for something to use inside mini lanterns, but don't think these will quite work because of the size of the "pager." I'm going to keep them, though. I got the multi-colored lights, and they're so gorgeous! Takes me back to my childhood. They're fragile, so you have to be careful, and they're somewhat hot, so it's important to put them where they won't risk fire. That's why people don't use this kind anymore, isn't it. I broke one of the bulbs accidentally just by letting it touch the floor a little too easily - luckily it didn't make the whole strand worthless, I just moved it so the empty was closer to the plug. The warmth and festive feeling of them is undeniably better than anything else. I hung them on cup hooks from the ceiling two inches from the wall and they look fantastic without touching anything.
