We placed these lights along our staircase banister. They were a nice change to our usual string lights. These lights are bright and colorful. The ends of the rope have the female connector and the beginning of the rope where the controller is attached has the male connector. The male end should be unscrewed to connect to the female end for the side you wish to add.
