This throw is very soft to the touch. It does not feel stiff like a lot of electric blankets I have had in past. The tie-dye looks more like a fur pattern to me which is a plus. It looks nice draped on my office couch. The controls have nice large digits to easily read. The left side is red for temperature control and the green is the timer, each has their own button. The large button is for turning it on and off. I tried the temperature setting of 2 and it was a nice soft heat, perfect to feel cozy without excessive heating.
