A huge block of white marble is drilled out to produce a cylindrical shaft or core of solid marble to create the base for these beautiful tables. This 'cored' base is left in a rather unpolished state to contrast with the smoothness of the round tops. The stem and rim holding the marble are made of solid brass. Perfect end tables (often referred to as drink tables) made in India are the result of this effort.
