I paid more because I really wanted a deep couch - it doesn't see that deep. It doesn't require much assembly if any so don't buy that, unless you want your boxes all hauled off. If you are waffling between white or lite gray go with the white; the lite gray seems a bit on the tan/brown side. Also I haven't had it for long enough to complain but I doubt the cushions will hold up long if you have a large family of a lot of guests. so all in all I would say it does a great job of filling up empty space.
