Needed bigger table without spending alot and this is perfect! As with all my Wayfair purchases, I am very pleased. This thing is an absolute beast! You are going to need a partner, not just to carry it in, but to unpack and assemble. Give yourself plenty of floor space and time. I can't tell you how long it will take in one sitting because we worked on it over a period of several nights. It was a challenge to line things up at times, but patience and persistence paid off. The frame is metal and very sturdy. Not sure what the top is made of, but it appears to be, perhaps, some sort of a laminate. If you are tough on tabletops [like a crafter for instance] I would not recommend this. But for dining ... perfection! Last note: for some reason I thought I ordered a table with a leaf, for versatility. There is no leaf. It is one long table. But it is gorgeous, well made and will serve us well for many years.. It was a bit troubling to put together some parts, but overall the instructions were decent. I would say it could fit four chairs, but two (one on each side) the person wouldn't have the best leg room as it would be near the cabinet portion.
