Bought in black. Solid. Three large boxes when delivered. No cord management but if you have the back of the desk against a wall (as pictured) or a corner, there's none really needed. I have two 28-inch monitors and my keyboard on top and typically keep a notepad to the right. Also, at least one or two cups, phone and various other items and I have room for all of it- it does get tight but it's because I am overloading the desk with unneccessary items, not becuase the desktop is particularly skimpy. The drawers are not soft close but they are solid and do not slide open on their own- they have a bit of weight to them. It's clearly made well and has a beautiful grain throughout even if it is not a mahogany or oak desk. My condo is modern and the black fits beautifully in with everything. Would buy again.. Toni. Looks great! It’s very sturdy. The black looks really nice. Took my husband two hours to put together but he wasn’t rushing. The drawers open smoothly but they do make slight sound as it sort of scrapes along the metal. The drawers don’t have stoppers so COULD fall on toes BUT they’re so deep that I can’t imagine that happening. We do plan to remedy that in some way because it for our 7yo son, but not necessary for older kids or adults. chair opening is very large which makes it nice for widercrossed-legged chairs.
