Positively IN LOVE with these sofas! Firm enough for me, soft enough for my husband. I’ve sat on countless sofas at furniture stores and immediately popped up with a “Nope!” So naturally I was nervous at 2k a pop, no cancels or returns and a front door that wasn’t quite 36” wide as needed per the delivery specs. They had the look I wanted which no local store seemed to carry, totally washable which is a must with large dogs so I took a chance- and oh am I glad I did. They took a few weeks to arrive but came earlier than expected. Delivery was easy- the guys were fantastic. I haven’t tried the sleepers- they’ll serve their need eventually. This is my first "adult" couch and it's perfect! Delivery was relatively easy. They brought it into my apartment building and up the elevator. They were having trouble getting it out of the elevator and into my apartment and I was very grateful not to have to do it myself. The automatic call was very accurate and the men arrived 25 minutes after it (they said within 30 minutes). The men were a little hard-handed with the couch and I thought they may damage it but it proved very sturdy. It comes fully assembled so all I had to do was attach the legs. You definitely need 2 people to do this (just to set the couch on it's side carefully and then lift it up again). The couch is a bit still but will break in. The dark color is TRUE BLACK, just like other reviews said. It looks like it could be grey in the pictures but it is 100% black. It will be hard to keep white lint off of it but will hide any mishaps with food or drink. The bottom pillows can come off and are kept in place with velcro. The back pillows are attached. The legs are solid wood and are dark brown. The couch is long enough to fit someone of 6 feet without having to scrunch. Overall I am impressed with the quality of the couch for the price. Wayfair is also great with customer service. I had read in another review that the couch had been deeply discounted after they ordered and they were able to get money back. I kept my eye on the listing every day after order and sure enough, it went down $11. I waited out for more but eventually called to see if I could get the difference. I was extremely nervous and felt like I was being silly asking for it but the woman didn't ask any questions and immediately said that they will respect any price changes in your favor up to 7 days after delivery.. Okay. The couch itself is absolutely wonderful! It's soft, the color is a wonderful gray and the USB outlets are awesome. Wayfair did a great job of refunding me some money when the couch was delivered defective even though it wasn't a defect that kept me from using the sofa. Product = Great. Customer Service = Phenomenal. My issue is with the "Red Barrel Studio" re-branding. It turns out the sofa is actually the Jackson Furniture Ava Sofa and has a much lower price point at stores nearby. I find that to be slightly questionable and would recommend that customers considering this couch look for the Jackson Furniture version locally first. When I spoke with the customer care team, they said this was pretty common practice which now makes me wonder if I should double check ALL items on Wayfair against local competitors for better prices. I needed an inexpensive couch to last me the next 4-5 years while I finish up school and one of my non-negotiables was removable cushions. This was the only couch in its price range that had that, and in the color I wanted. Assembly was fairly easy and took me about one hour total (I'm 5'2", 100lbs). Zippers are poor quality, build is 'decent enough for the price' quality, and they give you one extra of each accessory you need (various screws and washers). Cushions are thinner than average but I honestly don't mind that because I don't like sinking all the way into the abyss with fluffy ones, but I foresee years of use culminating in completely squished and compacted cushions. We'll see with time. All in all, I'd give it 3.5 stars. Decent enough for the time being, definitely, but will most certainly be looking for a proper upgrade once I graduate.. Anonymous.
