The only disappointment was that the base was just powder-coated tubular metal and not cast iron. I have a very small space and needed a smaller circular table. This one seems to be the perfect size, however I had not considered the style of chair impacting the footprint. I solved the issue by turning the chairs to push in snug when not having company but then having them face straight in when company comes, dramatically increasing the necessary floor space. Installation was a a breeze with my drill, HOWEVER be careful not to drive them in to deep when connecting the table top or you will go right through! Absolutely LOVE this table!! It was very easy to assemble and really elevates my space. Quick and easy assembly for one person, though you will want a second person available to help you flip the table to it's upright position following assembly as it is heavy. Since the table top is actually black glass, I purchased placemats so that utensils, dishes, and laptops are not put directly on the table top to help lessen the risk of scratching.
