Love this bench. It's a big upgrade from my cheap shoe shelf (see photo) and worth the cost. The wood feels solid, and screws too. Took about 20-30 min to assemble. The screws came in easily marked bags (see photo) and the directions were large and easy to follow (see photo). It did come with 2 Allen wrenches, but I needed my own blue Allen wrench to get a good grip and turn. And most impressive thing? When I flipped it over, it didn't rock at all! Level and steady. I wish the outcome of this bench would have been different, because it is a nice concept, with a solid wood slab. However, there were several issues with the bench. The bottom of the legs of the bench were oxidized, to the point of powder metal on the floor. The wood slab had a scratch and wood filler in another area, and areas of the gold/brass coating was missing on the legs. Received a replacement bench, with similar issues, to less of a degree, but similar issues. The replacment bench wobbled, and the hardware kit came with replacement rubber feet. My hope was to replace the rubber feet and correct the wobble. I spent a couple of hours fighting to remove the rubber feet from the bench, since they were disintegrating, it was process to pull the feet from the legs. However, to no avail in correcting the wobble in the bench. A star bump of two stars instead of one, because the Simpli Home customer service was nothing but amazing. Easy to work with, fair and ultimately provided a refund when the replacement bench did not arrive in expected conditions.. Bk. Sun Oct 22 2023

I was overall very pleased with this, although it does ding and scratch easily. There were a few dings in out-of-sight places, and a few more after we were done with assembly. It was extremely well packed and it went together very well; no wobbling or wiggling to make the parts fit, all the holes were in the right places, it was shipped with extra hardware which wasn't needed but it's good to have. The two suggestions I would give are actually about the instructions. It was not clear from the diagrams how to orient the dividers horizontally. For vertical (up/down) sticker was confusing the way it was placed but I figured it out by the drill holes. However side-to-side, because the pieces are symmetric I put the riser holes facing each other. This was wrong and of course that's one of the first pieces you put in, so we just drilled new holes for the riser. No big deal but would be helpful if the diagram were more clear, or if you drilled the assembly holes so the divider can only face one way.
