I got two of these and they are perfect. My father made some kind of extended anti-tipping wall anchors since I wanted the shelves on a wall with a baseboard heater so they were a bit far from the wall for the anchors they come with. I included photos. Please ignore my empty photo frames. I needed to stage the shelves so I'll know exactly how it all fits. The shelves are a beautiful color and exactly what I was looking for. They have plenty of extra storage behind the doors in the bottom. They took a while to assemble, but it wasn't difficult to do it. They're honestly just perfect and exactly what I needed.. Ciara. A contemporary update on a traditional design, this solid wood etagere bookcase features two shelves, x-frame side braces, and an open back design. For a classic arrangement in your living room, start by rolling out a paisley area rug for a pop of pattern, then arrange an oversized leather sofa with nailhead trim and a tonal striped wingback chair around a polished wood coffee table with wrought iron sides. Place this design against the wall beside your television stand and use one shelf to store your DVD collection, and the other to display your favorite reads. Accessorize the shelves with laser-etched hurricane candles, framed family photos, and a vase of freshly-cut daffodils to round out the design.

This is a pretty darn nice, sturdy bookcase which isn't cheap plywood and that's a pleasant surprise at this price point. It fits perfectly between my computer desk and file cabinet where I needed shelfs for reference books. I deducted one star because of a few issues. Maybe I should have deducted two! It took me a little over an hour to put it together myself, mostly because the pictograph instructions aren't the best so I took my time and studied it, then went back to the website to download one of three other PDF instructions that seemed a little easier to follow. Instructions state to screw shelves and braces to both sides of the bookcase and then place the top piece. I've put together pieces with shelves before and I always find that it's easier to screw all pieces into one side, then flip it and attach the other side. Two of the holes were not drilled properly, making it difficult to get the side screws in and one of the shelves wasn't finished properly, having a weird tacky area where it appears the black paint was missed and something sticky was left. At some point, I'll have to give it a light sanding and repaint that shelf, but I don't have time for that nonsense today. Also, the instructions don't tell you that you'll need a rubber mallet to tap in the little plugs that cover the screws, but you will definitely need one to get them seated in properly.. Gloria.
