The sofa arrived packaged in multiple layers of plastic wrap and carboard, however, upon opening it we did find a little damage. We're currently working with Franklin Corp. the manufacturer of the sofa to come to a resolution. This is a long couch! It’s long enough my 6’6” son can lay on it straight out. It’s comfortable even with the lower profile backrest. The backrest pillows offer ample support. It arrived in two fairly small boxes considering the size and number of pieces that comprise this couch. (That vacuum packing is impressive.) The only thing that I don’t like about the couch are the cupholders. First, the metal cups themselves arrived stuck together, one inside the other. My husband had to use vice grips and a wrench to separate them. Second, the cupholders are also quite small, both in circumference and depth. Third they have a sharp edge that could be problematic when using the armrests of the couch. I chose to keep them out, which is fine except the little peculiar holes that are now on each armrest..
