Since I do DYI carpentry, I got an extra top, routed it out to a ring, enough to clear the hardware to attach the legs, screwed it to the underside of the existing top, and then attached the legs. Vendor should consider this instead of a Wayfair hack! See my photo! After months of usage, I discovered the top is abnormally vulnerable to scratches. Moreover, once scratched, the white "scars" eliminate the design and even DIY efforts do not allow coverage with normal stains.
