I'm fairly happy with it. The cabinet is solid if unremarkable. The honeycomb doors feel handmade, with tiny visible finishing-nail holes. They justify the price. No tricks or shortcuts as far as I can tell, it really does seem to be one stained piece of wood per hexagon, and the wood grain on the hexagons is real, not printed or veneered on.
That being said, the wood hexagons are stained but unvarnished, and the whole piece feels a little more rustic than I was expecting. Not in a bad way, but I think you could put this in a log cabin as easily as in an ultra-modern home.
Minor nitpicks: the shelves don't fit tightly inside or feel too solid, they sit on little metal standoffs and slide around; and there are no holes for cable management on the back, although it's too tall to be a TV stand, anyway.. Peter. San Francisco, CA. Sat Jun 27 2026
