First, I'm grateful that I could find an umbrella that matches the color of my patio chairs--a burgundy wine color. Not an easy thing to find based on my experience. Having said that, I was initially a bit surprised and disappointed that the umbrella fabric was actually a see-through vinyl mesh (see pix). The umbrella took well over a month to be delivered, but I imagine they are made after the order is placed and that is the reason for the long delay. And it is very well made! One thing I didn't realize is that this particular umbrella does not have a crank like I have had with previous patio umbrellas to raise the umbrella. I had to get a stepladder and use a lot of strength to lift the umbrella to the desired hole atop the pole and then insert an attached pin through it to keep it up. I live in a desert and yet have never had a crank break, so I am not sure why such an expensive umbrella didn't come with one. While this was not a deal-breaker, climbing up on a stepladder and pulling the umbrella up to a desire level may not be prudent for some customers.. Lor. Palm Desert, CA. Wed Jan 02 2019

I was really hesitant to get this because I’m not a fan PVC but it’s so much more resilient than the cotton one I had that got dirty and molded over time. I went with the green that has a bit of a turquoise tint to it and it is still beautiful even though I’m drawn to the more decorative umbrellas that just don’t hold up in the weather.
