This is on me, (I should have measured the area and compared) but as you can see from the photo with my chairs, this ottoman is quite large. I expected it to be about the size of the center wood lid, but it goes out several inches beyond the lid - it is practically coffee table size. The color is a nice warm cream, matching my rug as I had hoped. The lid has two different depths - one is more shallow, if you wanted to use as footstool, or if you flip it over it is deeper and perfect for drinks or snacks.
