This is a very pretty light grey glass bowl. It appears to be floating on the counter because it's base, or flat area, is only in the very center of the bowl. I purchased it for a fruit bowl for my husbands town house and it looks beautiful with fruit in it on the granite counters. The only thing is if the fruit is on one side of the bowl only, it kinda tips to the side, so you would want to kind of balance the fruit in the bowl. I am happy with the purchase.. Kirsten.
